Always alert to mentions of Calvin Coolidge on other blogs and websites, I chanced upon an interesting item in the charming Bunnie’s Garden travel and garden blog, about White Pine Camp in the Adirondacks, described as the Summer White House of the Coolidges. Check out the beautiful pictures, among them one of the presidential cabin. I can well imagine Calvin Coolidge enjoying the solitude of those gorgeous surroundings (and the comfort of the well-equipped cabins)!
That’s really a nice spot. How is it managed/owned/operated today if you know?
I looked it up and it’s owned by a group that rents the cabins out.
Thanks Dave! I had no idea and would have suggested the source blog, but that doesn’t have the information. Check out the post on Vanderbilt’s Sagamore “Cabin” on that blog, a huge thing that must be in the vicinity of White Pine.
