Coolidge on presidential greatness

“It is a great advantage to a president, and a great source of safety to the country, for him to know that he is not a great man.”

    • Justin, thanks! I’ll need to do a little digging for that…and I thank you for making me aware that it’s always helpful to provide documentation from the outset. I’m still learning this, you know 🙂

  1. Justin, historian and presidential scholar Richard Norton Smith quotes this line of Coolidge’s in his Hauenstein lecture…if you look up my post on that lecture, the quote is in installment 2, at approx. 09:20 The whole lecture is well worth listening to, and quite funny at times.

I have to assume that Smith knows his stuff, but can’t provide further documentation.
